NYFW, evaluation

So, that was NYFW SS'12. It was a good week I think. Nice trends could be discovered in the collections, a lot of new and gifted designers got the opportunity to show and there were gorgous streetstyle pictures taken.

The biggest trend for next summer, is the multicolor floral print. We saw it at ADAM, Altuzarra, Costello Tagliapietra, Proenza Schouler, DKNY,.. to name just a few. This trend is mostly inspired by Givency's famous Violet Collection of last season.

Anna Sui

Something else, something we didn't see the first few days of NYFW, is the Powerwoman trend. The kind of woman that dresses in tight, maybe even tribal-like suits.

3.1 Philip Lim
Chado Ralph Rucci

A little overview
For next summer we have (as you could also see here in the previous post)

Neon Yellow
Multicolor Floral

What is your opinion on the new collections? PLEASE leave a comment with your thoughts, as I think the discussion is almost as important as the collections, because the discussion is what shows us other points of view and gives us inspiration.

  1. i am totally into the big floral prints! because it can look so cheap and way too romantic! i always love a challenge so i am curious on how people will incorporate difficult prints into their looks!
