Annelies Braeckman POP-UP

Both the attracting factor and the problem with pop-up shops is that they pop up suddenly and disappear shortly after. Time is the key word. And a slight sense of mystery is present.

The concept leaves me a bit restless. From the moment I get an invite or I read about it in a magazine, it lingers through my mind. I am interested. I know I should visit. But my schedule is adequatly filled.

Therefore I was happy, that last week, I finally found the time to visit the pop-up by Belgian designer Annelies Braeckman. A mutual friend introduced us on facebook, so we have been following eachother's work. And last Thursday we met in person for the first time.

Annelies is a very warm and genuinely cheerfull woman. We had a good talk about her collection and building a carreer in the fashion industry. After graduating from The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp she gained experience working for big labels like Dries Van Noten and Maison Martin Margiela. Now she is selling her very own collection, 'Frankly by AB'.
